The Red Eye (a poem)

You see in a reverie

A coloured butterfly

A childhood memory

Through your inner eye

While the outer one red

In tears without clue

Your iris misled

Into a darker blue

Shall we open our soul

To avoid being blind?

From the sight of the whole

All our fears quarantined

Please take my own eye

To cure your lasting scar

Shall we take our own I

For the love that we are?
